Please note: If you are in the Dayton area or from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and are interested in making a pilgrimage, MEEC, Marianist Environmental Education Center, will be planning a pilgrimage to visit the Marianist Nature Preserve at Mount St. John, particularly the Bro. Don Geiger SM Prairie. This pilgrimage will share how the Marianist Charism has embraced and enlivened integral ecology. More details will be coming soon. If you are outside of Dayton and are interested in hosting a pilgrimage for Marianists in your area, please contact Tara Poling, MEEC.

Catholic Climate Covenant’s Earth Day 2025 program

The 2025 Earth Day program will focus on mobilizing and organizing the U.S. Catholic community to build a healthy, sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for all and commit to Renewable Energy Now.  Let us bring (renewable) light to our world! The program will complement the secular Earth Day 2025 theme of "Our Power, Our Planet™." The Earth Day program can be used on April 22nd or any day that fits your community's schedule. This year’s program is designed to enable the U.S. Catholic community to learn about Catholic energy ethics, pray together, take action, advocate, and mobilize for:

  • Increased renewable energy generation in your state or local area.

  • More renewable energy usage in our own Catholic facilities (Church-owned buildings such as schools, retreat centers, diocesan offices, etc.)

This Free one-hour program may be used to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22nd) and/or the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si' (Laudato Si' Week is May 24-31, 2025) or any time that fits your community’s schedule. It is also meant to assist anyone who wishes to engage with many of the goals of the Laudato Si' Action Platform.

Focus on State-level Catholic Creation Care Advocacy Webinar

There is hope and plenty of possible action for creation care advocacy at the state level in the U.S. During this webinar, we will explore how U.S. Catholics are successfully advocating for our common home at the state level. Panelists from Maryland Catholics for Our Common Home, Encounter Georgia, Kentucky Catholic Conference, Catholic Climate Covenant’s Encounter Program, and Catholic youth from Massachusetts will provide inspiring models of how you can advocate at the state level and promote Laudato Si’.

The webinar on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, between 1 pm and 2 pm EST, will be recorded, and the recording will be sent to all who register.

Catholic Climate Covenant’s Conference in Louisiana

Catholic Climate Covenant is excited to announce a special two-day conference in Louisiana (April 4-5) called Petrochemical Pollution, the Unborn, and Maternal Health: A Louisiana Catholic Health Conference. This timely event will explore the unintended consequences of petrochemical waste on mothers’ and their unborn babies’ health, with a particular focus on the communities along the Mississippi River, where pollution has had a profound impact on public health and the environment.

Additional Events: Ecumenical Season of Creation 2025 by the Laudato Si’ Movement

Laudato Si’ Movement is promoting an Ecumenical Season of Creation 2025.  The Season of Creation 2025 invites us to unite as a global Christian family. The preparation stage is key for the Season of Creation, creating bonds and relationships, renewing the joy of journeying together, and cultivating the gifts of communion and peace as the People of God and our common home. We will pray and act for our common home from September 1 (the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to October 4 (the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi).

This year's theme is Peace with Creation, rooted in Isaiah 32:14-18. Isaiah paints a stark image of creation wounded by human injustice. We repent of our wrongful thinking and commit to building peace by restoring our relationships with the Creator, creation, and each other.

The symbol for 2025: The symbol for 2025, the Garden of Peace, features a dove carrying an olive branch. Just as Noah’s dove returned with a sign of renewal after the flood, we, too, seek a world where peace flourishes as we reach out to each other and connect with all creation.

As you start planning your events and activities for SoC 2025, visit the official ecumenical website to find further details and where the Celebration Guide will be published in a few months.
