Join MEEC for a Winter Solstice Sunrise Celebration at Mount St. John, Dayton, OH, on December 20, 2024, at 6:30 am, a day that will be the longest night of the year.
From MEEC's Director, Sr. Leanne Jablonski, FMI:
On Friday, December 20 at 6:30 AM, MEEC will mark the longest night of the year as we have for 25 years - with prayers for peace, a candlelight procession through the Marianist Nature Preserve at Mount Saint John, and a bonfire overlooking the prairie as we watch the return of the sun in the East. Personally, this is one of my favorite days on our calendar. The joy and hope each of you brings to the celebration lifts my soul and amplifies our prayerful call for peace and justice to reign. We'll draw inspiration from Pope Francis' message for the World Day of Peace on January 1 and close with hot beverages and a light breakfast.
If you haven't been to the property lately you'll notice Sieben Hall has been razed. Park in Lot C as usual, and gather around the new Deacon Greg Cecere Pavillion at the edge of Lot C.
RSVPs are requested (RSVP: 937/429-3582 or info@meec.center)
